The father of a 22-year-old man stabbed to death yards from an anti knife crime poster has called for a return of ‘family values’ to stop the surge of violence.
Shevaun Sorrell of Deptford, south London, was today named as the latest victim in the the crime-wave blighting the capital with more that 100 homicide investigations launched this year.
Mr Sorrell was attacked next to a campaign poster when a brawl broke out near his home on Saturday night.He was taken to hospital but died an hour later.

‘I have tried to bring up my children with family values and not everyone does this.
‘You read about these killings in the newspapers and see it on the news, but until it happens to you it’s not really possible to understand.’
Shevaun lived with his father and mother Donna and older brother Shane, 24.He was said to be at college in Lewisham and was training to be a tradesman.
Mr Sorrell, a retired railway engineer, told the : ‘He was good with his hands and could have been an electrician or something like that.
‘He was bright and good with computers.He also loved his music. He really was one of the best, we are devastated and struggling to understand why he was killed.’
A Home Office anti-knife crime poster with the hashtag #KnifeFree could seen displayed on a bus stop yards from the scene of the stabbing.
Today a row of flowers and tributes have been left at the spot where he was attacked.
A friend of Mr Sorrell told the Standard: ‘He was a normal guy, not associated with gangs in anyway.He wasn’t confrontational.
His death comes just days after police announced their 100th murder probe in the capital this year after Carole Harrison, 73, was found dead at home in Teddington, south west London.

The most recent victim is believed to be the 96th person to be murdered in London so far this year.
Although 101 investigations have been announced this year, it does not mean there have been that many murders.
Some were later treated as manslaughter, one person was found to have died of natural causes, while another was a five-year-old missing person case that detectives revealed was being treating as murder in May.
No arrests have been made in the Deptford case and the Homicide and Major Crime Command have been informed.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
